The Art

OF DRINKING TEA

The tea master Sen no Rikyû established the four standards of chadô or chanoyu "the route of tea" WA KEI SEI JAKU (harmony, respect, purity and tranquillity). Since then there are many who practice the chadô ""tea route" or as it is known more often in the West "the tea ceremony".

To begin, hold a bowl of tea in your hands; its greenish tone is the reflection of the nature that surrounds you. Close your eyes, and in the depth of your soul find the green mountains and the clear water of the springs. Enter the silence and feel how everything becomes part of you.
